Video Game Design with GameMaker

Interested in making your own video games but don’t know where to start? In this camp we’ll cover the game development engine GameMaker, making an 8-bit inspired classic space and top-down game, and developing game narratives. Learn GameMaker’s drag and drop code, explore popular video games and design your own game including characters, game goals and rules.
Instruction includes a combination of live online interactions with NIU faculty and staff, along with recorded videos and downloadable step-by-step instruction.
Chromebook and some computers are not suitable for this camp. View minimum hardware and software requirements.
This camp meets online from noon to 4 p.m. each day and is recommended for students in grades 9-12.
