
NIU STEAM has developed a wide variety of student facing programming. Below are examples of how we can work with your team to provide hands-on STEAM learning at all grade levels. Are can also work with your team to develop custom programs.
We’ll work with you to develop a series of workshops, coaching and co-teaching to amplify STEAM learning in your building. Our Tier 2 and 3 educator programming packages include our STEAMvaluation services. We’ll help you identify local goals and outcomes and evaluate progress towards those goals.
STEAM Campus Visits
Bring your student to campus to explore what STEAM looks like at a future focused university! Your visit with us will include hands on activities and challenges as well as tours and visits to our innovative spaces. We welcome students from Kindergarten to high school and groups large and small.
STEAM-in-a-Box Kit
NIU STEAM can provide the resources you need to run a successful STEAM night. A STEAM-in-a-Box kit includes the following.
- Event curriculum package (activity guides and lesson plans for the event, supply List, facilitator guide, & idea sparks and mini lessons for the classroom).
- One-hour virtual coaching session with NIU STEAM experts.
STEAM Learning Units
A STEAM learning unit is a curriculum pack that includes up to 20 hours of standards aligned hands on learning activities. There are a variety of themes available. Each unit allows for flexible implementation and can be used in or out of the classroom. With the purchase of a STEAM learning unit, NIU STEAM will work with your team to support implementation. Learning units are available in the following grade bands, K-1, 2-3, 4-5, or 6-8.
We can also design custom programs or learning units to fit your goals.
