Games are an important form of learning. In our video game design sessions, we play games, design games, and build games for fun and learning. Learn through a combination of live, online interactions with NIU faculty and staff, recorded videos, and downloadable step-by-step instruction.
Session: Fall Preview, October 20-29
Days/Times: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-5:00 p.m.

Are you interested in Minecraft, block and JavaScript programming, modifying skins, 3D development or video games? This fun online workshop helps to develop skills in coding, problem solving, graphic design and teamwork. Learn how to build 3D worlds in a community server, while you learn the basics of coding logic.
You’ll need a stable internet connection and a computer that
meets our computer hardware and software requirements. You’ll also need a computer mouse for PC, MAC, or Chromebook; headphones
with microphone capability; and a webcam. We use the Minecraft Education Edition, which is available on
Windows, MAC, iPad and Chromebook. Your login will be provided on the first day
and will provide access to Minecraft for the duration of the course.
Skill level: Beginner to intermediate.
