Our NIU STEM Roadshows are high-energy, interactive demo shows! They’re an excellent way to quickly engage all students in the many aspects of science, technology, engineering and math. Your students will leave in an excited state ready to engage more fully in science and math classes.
All demo shows are led by our experienced staff of STEM Educators. Shows typically last 45-60 minutes. Participants are able to ask questions and interact with the presenter throughout the performance. It’s Not Magic, It’s Science! is designed to capture the imagination of younger students (grades K – 2) with amazing demonstrations that look like magic but are really science! We discuss how important skills like being observant, asking questions and doing experiments can be used to unlock the secrets behind a magic trick or to uncover the wonders of the world around us.
The Find Your Spark Roadshow focuses on concepts relating to potential energy (gravitational, elastic and electric) and how we can unlock our potential by finding our “spark” of creativity.
Grades 6-8 and beyond
Get ready for a dangerously good time with “Extreme STEAM: Don’t Try This at Home!” This explosive virtual presentation collects some of our most exciting and impressive experiments and demonstrations into an experience that you’ll have to see to believe. Fireballs, high-powered lasers and high-speed projectiles are just a few of the amazing topics we’ll cover, but you won’t need to wear safety equipment to enjoy this show. All the experiments are done safely right here in our labs at NIU and streamed virtually to you and your students.
Is your school or organization looking to excite and inspire students in specific topics? Do you want to modify one of our other shows? Do your students need special accommodations or differentiation? We’re happy to help! Email our STEM Educators at firstname.lastname@example.org today!
